IDF motivated and enabled the women SHG members around Lakkavanahalli village in Chitradurga district to extract banana fibre yarn. IDF upgraded their skills in weaving to produce value added utility handicrafts. This GE activity was taken up with SGSY subsidy and loan assistance from Chitradurga Grameen Bank. It is an ongoing program with the SHG members. Activities like exposure visits and participation in exhibitions and international fairs are taken up to promote marketing of the products.
